It was in May 2015 that a new campsite with 138 pitches opened its doors in Frontenac, with new facilities, heated swimming pools, two water slides, a playground for children, sports areas and entertainment for the whole family. In 2018, there was the addition of 30 campsites and four-season ready-to-camp units (Cabania, M\u00e9gaPOD and Wooden Yurt). Since the beginning of the adventure, the co-owners, Julie Rouillard and Francis Therrien, have spared no effort to make Camping Aventure M\u00e9gantic a quality four-season vacation spot, going from a classification of 4 to 5 stars in 2018.<\/p>

A third phase of expansion is finalized in 2023, creating a campsite with 270 campsites and ready-to-camp sites. In 2024, they will complete their 10th season, winning the Campsite of the Year and Sustainable Development awards.<\/p>

Over the years, numerous investments have been made to improve the customer experience and diversify the offerings. The addition of a year-round spa, water games, escape games, a fully accessible ready-to-camp site for people with reduced mobility, as well as the organization of events have contributed to making Camping Aventure M\u00e9gantic a popular family destination, both summer and winter.<\/p>

The strategy of these managers focuses on sustainable development, notably through the use of quality materials, and in some cases, recycled materials. Equipment belonging to businesses and buildings in downtown Lac-M\u00e9gantic was salvaged following the 2013 tragedy, and the water slides come from a former water park in the region. It is with great pride that Camping Aventure M\u00e9gantic renews the 5 star classification from Camping Qu\u00e9bec. Only 22 campsites out of 1026 campsites in 2023 across the province of Quebec have managed to obtain this classification.<\/p>

It is by ensuring the high quality of our facilities, the diversity of our activities for both children and adults as well as all adjacent services that we have succeeded in obtaining this classification. Each campsite is visited every three years in order to have its campsite evaluated and following this visit, it receives its classification which it must permanently display in view of the public. The owners, their families and employees have put every effort into achieving this perfect score. To continue its initiatives, Camping Aventure M\u00e9gantic is raising the bar by signing a commitment to sustainable tourism by 2030 to demonstrate its continued commitment to improving its sustainability performance while aligning its actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In 2024, Camping Aventure M\u00e9gantic is proud to have obtained the GreenStep GOLD Level Sustainable Tourism certification recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
