We are also the first company in Quebec, all sectors combined, to obtain this distinction. To obtain GOLD certification, Camping Aventure M\u00e9gantic had to satisfy several very specific criteria as part of an individual evaluation, which was carried out by a specialist in the evaluation of GreenStep.<\/a> During the process, Camping Aventure M\u00e9gantic's practices were compared to a set of criteria falling into 16 different categories, recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC)<\/a> and meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the sustainable actions that Camping Aventure M\u00e9gantic has undertaken, note the addition of high-efficiency furnaces running on biomass for its aquatic facilities and its main building as well as the addition of a adapted ready-to-camp<\/a> 4 family seasons and a lever chair at the pool for people with reduced mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To maintain the integrity and credibility of the program, companies are required to undergo a re-evaluation every two years. Thus, Camping Aventure M\u00e9gantic will have to demonstrate continuous improvement in its performance in terms of sustainability to maintain or increase its certification level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
