The Musi-Café in Lac-Mégantic, a symbol of resilience and renewal, was transformed following the tragedy of July 6, 2013. That night, a train carrying crude oil derailed, causing a massive explosion that destroyed the city center and cost the lives of 47 people. The Musi-Café, once a simple meeting place, was seriously damaged.
Despite this tragedy, the Musi-Café was able to rise from its ashes. Today, he embodies the resilience and solidarity of Lac-Mégantic. After the disaster, the owner and residents worked together to rebuild this iconic place. From now on, the Musi-Café is a space where we can share a good meal, meet up and remember.
