Our mission is to promote sustainable tourism with ecologically responsible governance in order to offer our tourist clientele a multi-use resort in a vast, quality environment that respects the protection of natural environments and promotes the development of the community. and which offers a variety of activities throughout the year.

Camping Aventure Mégantic is a company located in Frontenac in the MRC du Granit which opened its doors in May 2015. This campsite offers 263 sites for visitors, seasonal and ready-to-camp. In addition, several activities and events are organized there 12 months a year.
Our engagement
Camping Aventure Mégantic is proud of its sustainable development initiatives since its opening in 2015 and the certificates and recognition received: We are committed to sustainable development (OSEDD) in 2017 and 2019, OSEDD Level 2: Organization in action in 2021 as well as the price Winner in Sustainable Development from Camping Québec in 2022.
In order to continue its initiatives, Camping Aventure Mégantic is raising the bar by signing a commitment for sustainable tourism by 2030 in order to demonstrate its continued desire to improve its performance in terms of sustainable development while aligning its actions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In 2024, Camping Aventure Mégantic is proud to have obtained GOLD level Sustainable Tourism certification from GreenStep recognized by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). The process included a individual review of our business practices with a GreenStep assessment specialist who compared our performance against the recognized criteria of the World Councilu sustainable tourism which aim to recognize all forms of tourism that are truly sustainable and responsible.
Sustainable tourism is defined by the United Nations World Tourism Organization as “tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, meeting the needs of visitors, professionals, the environment and host communities”.
Every year, we commit to measuring and improving our sustainability performance in the following areas:

Implement a sustainable development action plan and update it every two years in order to continuously improve our practices

Train employees on priority issues (new employees and existing employees), and communicate best practices to customers

Improve the company's residual materials management performance, including those of its customers

Improve energy efficiency and reduce GHG emissions

Ensure an inclusive service offering for all people, including people with reduced mobility

Contribute to the protection of the Mont Mégantic international dark sky reserve

Structuring the sustainable development approach and communicating actions to raise awareness and influence

Responsible sourcing policy, selection of suppliers based on the quality of their products and their proximity (mainly for household products)
