THE Camping Adventure Megantic, located in Frontenac in the Eastern Townships, made its mark on the camping industry by winning three major distinctions during the 27th Camping Québec Excellence Awards Gala, which took place on October 26 at the Sheraton Hotel in Saint-Hyacinthe.
Campsite of the year – Lussier 2024
Camping Aventure Mégantic has been awarded the prestigious Camping of the Year Award – Lussier 2024, the highest distinction awarded in the camping sector in Quebec. This award honors an establishment for its excellence in customer service, human resources management and its overall operations. The judges unanimously praised the owners’ structured action plan and clear vision, as well as their commitment to their employees and the exceptional quality of the initiatives implemented.
Sustainable development – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton 2024
Camping Aventure Mégantic also won the Sustainable Development Award – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton 2024. This award recognizes establishments that have distinguished themselves through their actions in terms of sustainable development. The campground impressed the jury with the diversity and scope of its action plan, including 28 specific actions and more than 70 initiatives, such as the use of biomass furnaces to heat aquatic facilities, the creation of a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory with a reduction plan, and a day of paid salary for an employee involved in a volunteer cause. The campground also obtained the GOLD level Sustainable Tourism certification from GreenStep, becoming the first campground in Canada and the first company in Quebec, all sectors combined, to receive this honour.
Today’s Builder – Lussier 2024
In addition to these awards, Camping Aventure Mégantic was recognized with the distinction Today's Builder – Lussier 2024 for an investment of more than 125,000 $. This amount was dedicated to the addition of an accessible ready-to-camp and the development of a four-season spa, thus improving accessibility for all and offering a unique relaxation experience to visitors. These distinctions demonstrate the commitment and spirit of innovation demonstrated by the owners of Camping Aventure Mégantic, thus consolidating its position as a leader in the camping industry in Quebec.
