Camping Aventure Mégantic, located in Frontenac in the Eastern Townships, made its mark on the camping industry by winning three major awards at the 27th Camping Québec Excellence Awards Gala, which took place on October 26 at the Sheraton Hotel in Saint-Hyacinthe. Campsite of the Year – Lussier 2024 Camping Aventure Mégantic was awarded the prestigious Campsite of the Year – Lussier 2024 award, the highest distinction given in the camping industry in Quebec. This award honors an establishment for its excellence in customer service, human resources management, and overall operations. The judges unanimously praised the owners' structured action plan and clear vision, as well as their commitment to their employees and the exceptional quality of the initiatives implemented. Sustainable Development – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton 2024 Camping Aventure Mégantic also won the Sustainable Development – Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton 2024 award. This award recognizes establishments that have distinguished themselves through their sustainable development initiatives. The campground impressed the jury with the diversity and scope of its action plan, which includes 28 specific actions and more than 70 initiatives, such as using biomass furnaces to heat aquatic facilities, conducting a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory with a reduction plan, and providing a paid day's salary for an employee involved in a volunteer cause. The campground also earned the GreenStep GOLD Sustainable Tourism certification, becoming the first campground in Canada and the first business in Quebec, across all sectors, to receive this honor. Today's Builder – Lussier 2024In addition to these awards, Camping Aventure Mégantic was recognized with the Today's Builder – Lussier 2024 distinction for an investment of more than 125,000 $. This amount was dedicated to the addition of an accessible ready-to-camp site and the development of a four-season spa, thus improving accessibility for all and offering a unique relaxing experience to visitors. These distinctions demonstrate the commitment and innovative spirit demonstrated by the owners of Camping Aventure Mégantic, thus consolidating its position as a leader in the camping industry in Quebec.
