To recognize the exceptional work of campground operators, Camping Québec, the Quebec Campground Association, presented its 24th Excellence Awards via videoconference on October 21. Among the winners for this 2021 edition, Camping Aventure Mégantic in the Eastern Townships was awarded one of three Innovation – Lussier Dale Parizeau 2021 awards for the original creation of an escape game in its facilities. The campground also received a Bâtisseur d'aujourd'hui – Lussier Dale Parizeau 2021 recognition award for the major investment made in its aquatic facilities. WINNER OF THE 2021 INNOVATION AWARD: LOCKED-UP ADVENTURE This original project developed by Julie Rouillard and Francis Therrien, owners of Camping Aventure Mégantic, was born to address a lack of stimulating indoor activities for families in the region. With a distinct signature from that of the campsite, the Locked-Up Adventure experience is not reserved for campers, but is also accessible to tourists visiting the region. The activity was launched in the spring of 2021, and the reception from customers exceeded the owners' expectations: "We welcome as many guests from the campsite as from guests from nearby accommodations, as well as the general public. Our escape game introduces our campsite, and this visibility generates new reservations for our sites and ready-to-camp accommodations. RECOGNITION BUILDER AWARD - LUSSIER DALE PARIZEAU 2021 This recognition aims to highlight the investment projects carried out by Quebec campgrounds to improve their infrastructure and recreational areas, or to increase their capacity. Camping Aventure Mégantic was awarded a Bâtisseur d'aujourd'hui award for having invested more than 174,000 $ in its aquatic facilities. This year, the total investments made by the 20 recipients of the Bâtisseur d'aujourd'hui award totaled 3,327,609,34$, an amount that certainly demonstrates the economic strength of the camping industry in Quebec as well as the desire of operators to continually develop.
